Christmas Wrapping Paper

It seems as if no one uses Christmas wrapping paper anymore. While I do love the many designs available with gift bags for the holiday season I really miss the old-fashioned wrap that we used to use years ago. Sometimes I wonder if you can even buy Christmas wrapping paper anymore.

This is a complaint that I have with myself more than anyone else. I am inheritably lazy and the gift bags are wonderful for the quick fix when it comes to presenting a present. However, it really lacks the sentimental effort that is required for a real holiday gift. I really should put forth some effort in using real Christmas wrapping paper this year.

Using the decorative paper is a great way to make a stunning presentation for your friends and family. A collection of well decorated gift packages that have great Christmas wrapping paper surrounding them is a great way to make a beautiful decorative statement. The collection of gifts serves as a kind of holiday décor in them selves.

Imagine a setting where presents are decorated with traditional Christmas wrapping paper. These gifts can be placed under the tree or on a table in the house. Now picture a bunch of gift bags under the tree or on a table. They just don’t have the same appeal as the hand-wrapped versions do.

There are many things that we associate with the holiday season and Christmas wrapping paper is one of them. If you really want to make a traditional impression that will bring back fond memories of holidays gone by you may want to take the time to wrap your presents by hand.

I really began to think about taking the traditional route instead of the easy one when I realized that my kids had never really opened a present that had old-fashioned Christmas wrapping paper on it. My husband and I had gotten in the habit of putting the presents in gift bags.

Using gift bags saved us a lot of time but it also prevented our children from having the experience of ripping open their packages. It also prevented my husband and me from getting to watch them tear into the Christmas wrapping paper. This year we are going to make sure that we are not going to miss this opportunity again.

I am actually getting excited about the idea of using the Christmas wrapping paper this year. We are going to have to budget our time but it will be worth every minute on Christmas morning.
